As summer starts to wind down it is time to reflect on the beauty around us. Our lush green fields have turned a golden color, the flowers are fading. Each season has its beauty and late summer is no exception.
We are incredibly dry here in the beautiful Pacific Northwest and I have always loved the late summer hulls and pods of the spent wildflowers, and underbrush we have here. Those images in my thoughts as well as the start of the school year inspired today’s book binding fun fold card.

To make this card:
Basic Black cardbase 4 1/4” x 11” scored at 5 1/2” and 6 3/4”. From left to right, fold on the first score line, and fold back the top flap at the second score line. Adhere the section between score lines on the inside of the card. Then I took Soft succulent cardstock and cut 2 pieces 4” x 4” and 1” x 4” and adhered to the 2 front sections. Using the Harvest Meadow Designer Series Paper I cut a 3 7/8” x 3 7/8” and 7/8” x 3 7/8” pieces, adhering to the card front layers. I die cut the silhouette images out of Soft Succulent and Crumb Cake cardstock, lightly sponged Crumb Cake ink over them to bring out subtle texture. I then adhered them to the card front, the cone flower image popped up on dimensionals. I felt it still needed a bit of something so I added wink of Stella to all the silhouette images and it made them pop! The sentiment is in Crumb Cake ink and I used the Double Oval Punch.
I may add a linen thread bow to the bend of the cardbase, but when I was making the card my fingers just couldn’t get it to go! 🤷🏻♀️ Yep it happens!
