Remember when I said to save those paper wedge strips that were trimmed off the Designer Series Paper (DSP) I used for the Drapery Fold? Well round them up, they are the background for today’s card!
I started with a standard 1/2 sheet of cardstock 5 1/2” x 8 1/2” scored at 4 1/4” in So Safron. I then laid out the DSP wedges, showcasing both sides of the paper and adhered to the card base with liquid adhesive. I then used Stampin Write markers to color the floral spray stamp from the Art Gallery stamp set. (Warning, you cannot use Stampin Blends on stamps) I used Pumpkin Pie and Garden Green, then huffed onto the stamp and stamped the image onto Basic White cardstock. I then used the coordinating die to cut out the image. I used the smaller flower filler to stamp Pumpkin Pie Ink directly onto the larger flowers adding dimension.
Next I stamped the sentiment onto Basic White cardstock with Poppy Parade Ink. Next I used a die from Stitched So Sweetly dies to cut out the sentiment. I used second generation Pool party ink (stamped off) to add color to the sentiment die cut. I think I did too much, but it is what it is! I popped up the sentiment and floral spray on dimensionals and adhered to the card front. Then I added Wink of Stella to the flower petals and added Opal Rounds embellishments.
So what do you think? Give it a try, lay out the wedges on various coordinating cardstock to see what color combo you like!
